Pierre Chabrèle is a class act, a visionary trombonist with a totally identifiable sound, superb swing and a career that spans over 35 years. Whether he’s performing jazz, blues, funk, reggae, gospel, Afro-Caribbean, Latin or Fusion genres, you immediately recognise Chabrèle’s trombone!
2017: Chabrèle’s on tour with Max Romeo, performing with Lisa Simone, Boney Fields, spending long nights & days in the studio recording, mixing & mastering multiple new tracks notably for the Roots Hertitage project.
Chabrèle’s been based in Paris since the 1980’s whilst performing on the local West Indian music scene. He is spotted very quickly by some of the big names in the music business and embarks on an international career playing music professionally around the globe. Since then, Chabrèle has explored almost every musical form and performed and recorded with some of the greats including:, Youssou N’Dour, Alpha Blondy, Kassav, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Touré Kunda, Percy Sledge, David Murray and the diva, Liz Mc Comb.
A regular on TV alongside international stars such as Lionel Richie, Khaled, Paul Anka, Michael Bublé. Pierre Chabrèle’s compositions are also featured as theme music for radio.
Not only a talented trombonist, Pierre Chabrèle is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, multifaceted composer, arranger and producer. Chabrèle’s music is a festive fusion of diverse musical forms which criss-cross Afro-Caribbean rhythms with high-energy funk and groove influences. Innovative, refined and jubilant, he defines his unique brand of music as “Classical Afro-Caribbean”.
His two albums “La vie mawé crisis” and « Crossover Time » were recorded in Paris with international musicians. To quote Jazz Hot Magazine (Summer 2013) this is “music for the body that sets the audience on fire”. Musicos DJ Phil states that he is « an outstanding trombonist » (Tromboniste “hors norme”)
Pierre Chabrèle is continuously experimenting, arranging and reinventing music for the future, music rooted in the Caribbean and destined for the whole wide world.
