“La Vie Mawé”, Pierre Chabrèle & Clan Destin Big Band featuring Jaade on vocals
Musical genre known as CLASSICAL AFRO-CARIBBEAN.
La Vie Mawé Crisis was one of many songs Pierre Chabrèle wrote in January 1992 one year after the Gulf War, after touring with Touré Kunda in New Caledonia. Times were hard, the tour was cut short, work was thin on the ground. By January 1993, in Paris there was no work for musicians. La Vie Mawé Crisis tells the story of a situation which has been repeating since 1929. Lyrics are in Pierre Chabrèle’s mother tongue, Créole.
