This is Pierre Chabrèle’s personal tribute to J.J. Johnson whose first interpretation of Sammy Kahn and Jule Styne’s 1947 jazz standard is featured on his “ The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson, Vol 2” album in 1956.

In 1983, Chabrèle discovered J.J. Johnson’s jazz trombone in all its glory and was immediately inspired to take up the solo trombone and to dedicate himself to this instrument.

Chabrèle recorded his jazz ballad version of “Time After Time” in Paris in 2013 with Hervé Samb on guitar.
