LAÔ – is in the previously unpublished musical style defined by Pierre Chabrèle as Classical Afro-Caribbean music. Its rhythm was introduced by the ceremonial music of Indian “Coolies”after the abolition of slavery. At the age of 11, Pierre Chabrèle had already begun thinking about putting these rhythms to music. In 2000, after years of musical research together with classical music studies and years on the road with some of the big names in Jazz / world / fusion musical styles, Chabrèle started work on this first opus. First recorded in 2002, Laô was mixed in 2013.
